2013

Wow, I have not been on for a while, so far 2013 has been a wonderful creative year. Had our first big snowfall defenitely needed, it has been so dry. My poor plants and trees will suffer this spring if we do not get some more moisture. But the snow was so incredibly beautiful could not resist taling pictures. As far as my quilting, I am now working on the double vision series again. As you can see I am auditioning the black outlines as it is here computer generated. Well have to play some more!!! I did finish the quilt top for the Battered Womens group called Crossroads and here it is prior to the machine quilting. Does not look too cool with my red headboard but you get the picture! So one more snow picture!!!! Who knows Spring might come early!!

Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine July 2012

One of my favorite magazines is Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine. It is so beautifully done, you must get to see a copy if you are unfamiliar with this magazine. I did an article for them back in July and I just loved the way they did the layout, I will post a picture here. This past month however one of my friends Linda Beach did an article for them it is fantastic go get a copy if you can.

Next quilt....................

Have been working hard on new ideas for my new book, so I thought maybe I can at least show you a new strata I have just finished. It is made from mostly Kaffe Fassett type fabrics or at least fabrics that have that feel to them. Very colorful right up my alley. And I have made some of the paper piecing arcs to go with the strata as well. Now I have to get busy and start playing!!!! But of course Thanksgiving is coming and christmas is coming so I doubt if I get to it real soon. but at least I am on my way.  It is 112 strips wide! yeah I can not wait to cut into it.........

New post today and making a promise to blog more often. I am still stripping and hard at work writing new strips 'n curves book. I have two new template designs, and many more template free designs as well as still working with the old favorites. However with the old favorites I now use much more paper piecing parts and much, much more interlocking and overlapping of circles to create more movement in the quilts. More piecing involved, but oh so interesting to see. The quilt The Words Gets Around is good example of the movement. As far as the new template designs are concerned I have added picture of Painted Leaves. Notice the new curved design? And last but not least my new template free design called: Curves and Strips, which deals with making the curves first and then cutting the strips, see Rhapsody in Color. I hope you enjoyed the little preview, give me your feedback.
