Just want to share the Asilomar class with you all. Can not begin to tell you how awesome the week was. Great weather, incredible students I must say, just look at the work!!! All pictures courtesy of Dixie Johnson. Thanks so much. Wow, is all I can say they were all so creative. I will finally start sending out some of the things I promised I would. So sorry but were moving my kids from my house (for 6 months) into their own.
Also we, Helen, Linda, Laura, Cyndy and I,  walked every morning along the beach, I miss you all already! That was a delight!
Thanks ever so much to Dixie for setting up a special facebook page for our class. Love, love it.
Hoping to see the finished quilts, what a delight that will be inspiration for us all. Seeing Brenda's quilt in class makes me want to finish my elongated larger ovals. But for now I am gardening, I just started this week, in years past I am all done and I am just maintaning so I have my work cut out for me, will be spending days in the gardens to catch up. Seeing Edi's beautiful home and incredible gardens made me just jump right in. Wow, Edi thanks ever so much what a treat, it is a piece of heaven for sure. I will create another post just for the pictures I took in Asilomar and at Edi's gardens.
But for now thanks so much to all of you, success with your quilts some of you made more than one quilt in class. I hope to hear from you and let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

International Quilting Day

Dear Quilting Friend

International Quilt Day is just around the corner, and as a featured artist on a past episode of The Quilt Show, (www.thequiltshow.com) I wanted to let you know about a gift that Alex and Ricky have put together for quilters around the world.

Beginning on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, everyone who signs on to The Quilt Show will have free access to over 120 of their internet shows, including my episode # 204     .  You can watch the shows, check out the great tutorials, browse the gallery of over 19,900 member quilts, visit the forum for answers to the most burning quilt questions and lots, lots more. And if you missed my show, you can see it now.

You can also enter the TQS prize drawing with fantastic prizes from companies we know and love like Bernina, Gammill, Superior Threads, AccuQuilt, C&T Publishing, RJR Fabric, and Ricky and Alex will have gift baskets to give away too.  The grand prize is a new Bernina 550QE sewing machine!

I wanted to make you aware of this amazing event so you can take advantage of everything this exciting weekend has to offer without leaving home and all for free.

Don’t hesitate to share this email with your quilting friends, fellow guild members, social networking friends and local quilt shops so that they don’t miss out on this fun weekend.  And feel free to post an abbreviated version of the details on your Facebook page.  I want everyone to know about this amazing 3-day celebration of all things quilting.

So check in at www.thequiltshow.com on Friday, March 15, and enjoy the shows and exploring The Quilt Show website and all it has to offer!  And I’d love to have you view my show, episode #204         .

Got home from awesome Quilters Retreat in Billings, MT. Was delayed in airport for a while on Sunday but after the wonderful retreat I did not even care! To the quilters in charge, Georgene and her incredible staff hats off to all of you for making this so special for the quilters and the teachers. I was truly pampered did NOT want to go home. Wow, great classes great students, thank you all so much. Had a wonderful time with Alice Kay Arnett from Laramie WY-  we had so many laughs my jaw hurts! And let's not forget wonderful Susan Cleveland who shared so many tips with me I owe her big time!!!! Big time!! We celebrated her birthday at the HuHot Mongolian Grill and had marsmellows, graham crackers and chocolate at the table, see photo! With the other teachers and some of the quilters extraordinaire. What a blast. My classes were great, my students the best. I have never seen a bigger strata in all the years I have been teaching this method, she blew me away! I believe it was 300 plus strips. Bigger than mine, for sure. And Brook Atherton from Billings I believe did the car cover isn't it a hoot!

2013

Wow, I have not been on for a while, so far 2013 has been a wonderful creative year. Had our first big snowfall defenitely needed, it has been so dry. My poor plants and trees will suffer this spring if we do not get some more moisture. But the snow was so incredibly beautiful could not resist taling pictures. As far as my quilting, I am now working on the double vision series again. As you can see I am auditioning the black outlines as it is here computer generated. Well have to play some more!!! I did finish the quilt top for the Battered Womens group called Crossroads and here it is prior to the machine quilting. Does not look too cool with my red headboard but you get the picture! So one more snow picture!!!! Who knows Spring might come early!!
